About Two or Three Prayer

Born From Obedience, Not Expertise

Join me in Prayer

I was standing in my kitchen over a year ago, watching another tragedy on the news. Another shooting. More "thoughts and prayers" without actual praying. And I had this thought: We've lost hope because we stopped praying as a nation.

Then: I wish we still had the prayer radio show where people could submit prayer requests and have someone actually pray for them.

Then God said: "Why don't you do it?"

And I was like: no thank you.

The Problem:

I am extremely uncomfortable praying out loud.

During small group "popcorn prayer," I'd spend the entire time sweating and overthinking: Should I mention that scripture? Oh no, someone just prayed for that person I was going to pray for. Now i need to pick someone else.

I'd be so busy thinking about what to pray that I wasn't actually praying. So my response to God was simple: Find someone else

Every few months, the idea would pop back up. "Start the podcast."

And every time: "Yeah, I must be trippin."

This went on for TWO YEARS. Finally, God brought me to Jonah (the guy who literally ran from God's call) and Moses (who said "I can't speak well—find someone else"). God's response to Moses? "Who made your mouth? Now GO. I'll tell you what to say."

I had no rebuttal left.

So I said: "Okay, Lord. But if I'm doing this, it needs to be EASY."

(Spoiler: It wasn't particularly easy. But here we are.)

This isn't some polished, professional prayer ministry run by a seminary graduate.

It's me—still uncomfortable, still stumbling over words—lifting up real prayer requests from real people.

And here's what I've learned: God doesn't need eloquence. He needs obedience.

When two or three gather in His name—even if one of them is  overthinking—He shows up. That's His promise in Matthew 18:20. And I've seen it happen over and over.

Because I believe prayer changes everything. Not because I'm an expert. Not because I have it all figured out. But because we were never meant to fight our battles alone.Depression. Anxiety. Hopelessness. So much of what's plaguing our world comes from isolation—from trying to do life without God and without community.

United prayer is how we fight back.

Submit your prayer request and experience what it feels like to have someone actually stand with you in faith. You don't need perfect words. You just need to show up and watch God move.
